Tyneside has very good links to the surrounding area. Newcastles Central Station is a main rail link to the rest of the country, which also links to Tyne and Wears Metro system which runs to Newcastle airport, North Shields, Tynemouth, South Shields and Sunderland.
Visitors to the region will find plenty of buses and taxis and lots of visitor information centres with timetables and guides to local attractions.
Hiring a car is probably the most practical way to get around, Tyneside has lot's to offer, so you won't want to spend too much visiting time waiting for the metro and bus.
